8 months old!

Yikes! Are you seriously 8 months old?? I can't believe another month has gone by. I absolutely LOVE this age! Owen, everything you do right now is a milestone. Your daddy and I have seen the biggest progress over the last month. You can now sit up, successfully feed yourself (always with your left hand), clap, give high-fives, laugh on purpose, interact with people, and scoot around on the floor to get what you want. When daddy and I pick you up from school, your face lights up and you squeal in excitement! It's hilarious!

We think you weigh around 23 pounds. In clothes you wear 9-12 months, and in disposable diapers you still wear a size 3. Your hair has started filling in nicely. Some days it seems light brown, and some days it has a red-ish tent. Your eyes are definitely blue, no doubt about it! Fingers crossed they stay that way!

Your daily schedule is the exact same at 8 months as it was at 7 months:
-wake up between 6:30 and 7:30 (sometimes you go back to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed until we have to leave for work)
-play until breakfast at 9:00 (bottle of breast milk and oatmeal/yogurt and fruit)
-after breakfast play until morning nap (10:00)
-sleep for 2-2.5 hours
-play until lunch at 1:00 (bottle of formula and veggie)
-after lunch play until afternoon nap (2:00/3:00)
-sleep for 1-1.5 hours
-play until dinner at 5:00 (bottle of formula and veggie)
-after dinner take a bath
-bedtime is between 6:30 and 7:00
-bottle at 10:00 (formula)
You absolutely love to eat. No joke. I can't even begin to list all of the new foods you've tried this month. A few that I can remember are refried beans, lasagna, grilled chicken, mac and cheese, kiwi, avocado, biscuit, olive, pesto noodles, orange, green pepper, and onion. Whenever daddy and I eat something, we let you try it. You are very adventurous, always willing to try something new! On our family beach trip this month you tried liver mush for the first time! I wasn't sure how you would like it. Only people born into our family seem to have a taste for it (maybe because we've grown up eating it)!
Some of your favorite things right now include:
-daddy's cabbage patch doll, Troy Carl (and Troy's paci)
-daddy's Alvin stuffed animal
-your exersaucer
-looking out of the window in the car
-playing with other children
-socializing (last month we started seeing some stranger anxiety, but that only lasted for a few weeks)
-interacting with the pups
-riding in shopping carts
