Today we headed back to the plastic surgeon for a measurement of Emery's head. It's hard to see in person, but the computer scan showed there has been progress over the last two months! The back of her head is slowly starting to round out. Having said that, they want her to continue to wear the helmet for 23 hours a day for the next two months. When we go back at the end of February, they will (more than likely) only make Emery wear her helmet during naps and at night. Thankfully, Emery doesn't mind her helmet, it's just a pain to deal with (it always turns and gets in her eyes, the chin strap gets smelly quickly, you have to take it on and off at bath time and when getting dressed/undressed, and we have to take it off for her to wear a winter hat in this freezing cold weather). Recently, her hair has started to grow and fill in, so I'm hoping by the time she gets the helmet off, her hair will be long enough for hair bows! I keep telling myself that one day we will look back on this and be so thankful we made this decision.
