A Night Away...

Saturday morning Pat and I headed up to Boone for Alex and Austin's wedding.  The wedding was in the evening so we decided to get there early and allow time for lunch downtown, shopping, and catching part of the State game.  For the most part, the rain held off, but the temperature was cool.  It definitely felt like crisp, mountain air!  We didn't take many pictures (because most of our night was spent on the dance floor!) but here is one of us before the ceremony:

8 years

Yesterday marked 8 years.  I remember it like it was yesterday!  

This past weekend we celebrated us ALL weekend!  We had drinks and appetizers together, 

dinner with our sidekicks, 

played golf with sweet friends,

 and reminded each other of three little words:  I Love You.

2 dogs, 2 kids, and 2 houses later, here we are.

I love you, PWL!

Teeth

Now that Emery started walking, I figured it wouldn't take long for her to hurt herself.  She took her first steps last Sunday.  Monday morning (the next day), I got a phone call from her teachers saying she had fallen and hit her bottom teeth.  They got her calmed down, however, her gums wouldn't stop bleeding.  Her clothes were covered.  I don't react well to blood (OK, I pass out), so Pat picked her up and drove straight to the dentist.  Dr. Mike said she knocked one of her teeth half way back into her gum.  She had one really loose tooth, and one tooth that was slightly loose.  He did x-rays and said that there wasn't any nerve damage, but the teeth could turn gray.  We have to take her back in 3, 6, and 9 months for another check-up.  Interestingly, the loose teeth could tighten themselves up on their own.  Luckily they are baby teeth, so it won't matter too much if they have to be pulled!

After a week of eating only soft foods, Emery is back to normal and running all over the place!

Labor Day

After traveling all summer, we decided to stay in Greensboro this Labor Day.  We did lots of fun things around here like going out to dinner, visiting Burlington City Park, watching the Pack play football, going to a play group dinner party, painting the outside railings on our house, having people over for dinner, shopping, and playing outside.  It actually felt like a nice, long weekend!

Owen had a very successful first week learning his teachers' names, meeting new friends, exploring the classroom and playground, and learning all of the rules!  He even asked if he could go to school today!!

Our last weekend away...

We ventured back up to Ohio for my cousin, Stephanie's, wedding on August 16th.  I was super busy from the time we arrived on Thursday, until we left on Sunday.

 As soon as we got to aunt Sharon and uncle Ed's, the kids took the jeep for a spin!  

 It didn't take Owen long to figure out he could hook the wagon up to the jeep so he could haul his mower around!

 While we were playing outside, a little parakeet came by!  After a quick trip to the pet store, this little guy has a new home!

Things got very interesting on the way home.  During our first flight, both kids passed out.  On the second flight, out of nowhere, poor Owen had projectile vomit 4 times while BOARDING the plane.  Needless to say, after the cleaning crew cleaned everything up, our flight was delayed 45 minutes.  We still have no clue what caused him to get so sick. 

 We had such a fabulous time visiting with our family in Ohio for the second time this summer!  The trip was fast, but definitely worth it!  We are SO happy for Stephanie and Ben!  Owen is finally old enough to remember everyone, and Emery enjoyed seeing everyone again and playing with all of her cousins!  Too bad we don't live closer.  Until next time...
