Summer can't get here fast enough!

Spring Break

This past week was my spring break.  The weather wasn't great, but I got to spend some quality time with the kiddos!  We went to see a play, went to the Science Center, the Children's Museum, two parks, and played outside a ton!  It was nice to do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted!  Don't get me wrong, not everything was fine and dandy...we also had an ice storm, two trips to the doctor, school closings and delays, several missed naps, and a day of wet carpets and a very unorganized house because we decided to randomly have them cleaned.  Here are some highlights from the week:

Saint Patrick's Day 2014.  Owen is all about picking out his clothes these days, and he refused to wear green!  I guess I have to decide which battles are worth fighting...

Owen and I went to see the "Ugly Duckling" at UNCG's Taylor Theatre.  Owen got bored about half way through so we left and went to get coffee and muffins.  I didn't realize it beforehand, but the play was a shadow puppet play put to music.  Honestly, I got bored too!

Baby girl got her first ear infection this week.  I guess that's not bad considering she is 8.5 months old.  She handled it like a trooper!

We have really enjoyed spending lots of time outside with Mr. Sun lately.  From the looks of things, more snow/ice is on the way next week.  Boo!

Watching the Pack play in the ACC tournament was fun while it lasted!  Emery Jane and one of her friends were showing the love at school!  Pat sent me this pic and said, "The claws are coming out today"!

Thursday and Friday I attended a conference in Raleigh.  My friend Amanda drove, so I left my car at her house.  When we got back in town yesterday, this is how I found my car- right next to a huge tree that happened to fall across (and block) the entire road.  Thank God I didn't park on the other side!

8 months!

Wow!  It seems like I just wrote your 7 month post, and now here we are at 8 months!  Emery Jane, we have seen you accomplish a lot over the last month.  You feed yourself (Cheerios, puffs, yogurt bites, and bread), you clap your hands, you try to wave, you say "mama" and "dada", and you scoot around on the floor.

 Here are your stats at birth:
-weight:  7 pounds, 6 ounces
-height:  19.5 inches
-head circumference:  13 inches

-Today:
We think you weigh around 20 pounds right now.  In clothes you wear 12-18 months, in diapers you wear a size 3, and in shoes you wear a 1.  You have tons of fat rolls and we love them all :),  Your hair is light brown and fuzzy!  Your eyes are blue just like your brother.

 Your daily schedule at 8 months:
-wake up between 6:30 and 7:00
-nurse
-play time
-morning cat nap (30 minutes-1 hour)
-6 ounce bottle and baby food around 10:00
-play time
-6 ounce bottle and baby food around 1:00
-play time
-afternoon cat nap around 2:00
-6 ounce bottle around 4:00
-cat nap
-dinner around 5:30 (baby food)
-night time bottle (6 ounces) around 6:30
-bedtime is at 7:00

 After 4 months of wearing your helmet for 23 hours a day, now you only have to wear it when you are sleeping.  We never thought this milestone would get here!  We are SO happy with the results so far!

 Emery Jane, we love you to the moon and back!  You are a special little girl with a huge personality!  We love that you communicate without words, smile at everyone, explore with caution, and eat like it's nobody's business!  We also love that "stank eye" look we get from time to time!

Go Pack!

Saturday we headed down to Raleigh to take the kids to their first basketball game of the season (Emery's first game ever!).  We watched the Pack play Miami.

The kids had a blast (and thought the game was exciting) even though State ended up loosing.  Oh well.  Better luck next time...
