A HUGE milestone!

Owen is officially all done with a pacifier!  Yesterday while lying in his bed, he bit the nipple completely off!  I told him it was broke and he had to throw it away.  After he put it in the trash can, the other back-up pacifiers mysteriously went away.  He hasn't asked for it much since then, but when he does, I remind him that he broke it and we had to throw it away!  

 I was so worried this day would NEVER come!

Tonight we went to a surprise birthday party for my dear friend, Amy.  She is turning 30 in 10 days!  It seems like we just graduated from college!  Happy birthday Amy!  Love you :)

Tomorrow is our first day of school!  I have 4 bulletin boards in my classroom this year, and this is my favorite...

Thanks to Google images, I was able to re-create a family tree!  We will have the kids bring family pics to hang on all the circles.  

Mary's bridal shower

Last Saturday, Amy and I headed to Burlington to celebrate a good friend of ours, Mary.  She went to Meredith with us and is getting married November 10th!  It was so nice to see and catch up with everyone.  Most of us haven't changed much- besides adding little ones!

The other day I was trying to find a particular picture on my phone.  It took me forever to find the one I was looking for.  Then I realized I have 898 pics!  Cell phones have come such a long way...

A Fresh Start

July 31st was my last day at UNCG.  I can't explain how many emotions I felt that day:  sad it was my last day, nervous about the changes to come, excited about a new opportunity, worried about not being a wall away from Owen, and confused about how to process all of these emotions.

Then we went to the beach.  ------->   Best plan ever.

When I came back, I was ready to let go of the old and move on with the new.  New faces.  New friends.  New environments.  New responsibilities.  New professional opportunities.  New challenges.

I jumped in full force and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I like being taught, and I like teaching others.  I want to have a lasting effect on the children I work with by enhancing their independence through discovery and learning.

Back from the beach...

Things are picking up around here and I just realized I never posted pictures from our last beach trip.  I didn't take very many because most of our time was spent relaxing, playing on the beach, and watching the Olympics every night!

When walking to the beach, Owen managed to get the best seat in the house:
